Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: A Detailed Review
Oh man, Piccolo – where did you get those clothes? My wife got them for me out of a closet! [Applause] If it isn’t obvious with my YouTube logo, I’m a bit of a Mad Dragon Ball Z fan. I remember waking up and watching Dragon Ball on cheese TV before going to school when I was a kid. I remember how annoying it was when, after the Cell Saga, the channel would revert back to episode 1 season 1.
From there, I grew up with the old school Dragon Ball Z toys, the PlayStation 2 video games, and now, as a grown-ass man (slightly grown lightly), I have a Vegeta tattoo on me. Recently, my friends at Bandai Namco Australia reached out to me and asked if I’d like to take a look at Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2 – an upcoming game set in the Dragon Ball universe.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is, in my opinion, one of, if not the greatest Dragon Ball Z games ever created. This game is a perfect fusion of Dragon Ball Z and Dead by Daylight. Although I only got to play one full round of the game before being flat exhausted from my recent Simpsons tattoos, I was hooked.
The story of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is not just about reliving the Dragon Ball Z timeline; it’s much more than that. In the game, you play as a time patroller whose job is to keep the timeline intact and stop anyone from messing with it. You aren’t playing as characters from the show; instead, you create your own character and dive into the Dragon Ball Z universe to correct the alterations made to history.
From Goku not holding down Raditz, to Captain Ginyu swapping bodies with Vegeta, the game offers a unique experience of fixing these disruptions in the timeline. As a time patroller, your mission is to go back through the Dragon Ball Z timeline, starting from helping Goku and Piccolo take on Raditz, all the way to the Buu saga and beyond into Dragon Ball Super.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 provides an immersive gameplay experience that will satisfy any Dragon Ball Z fan. So, grab your controller and join the adventure in this epic showdown of time and power!
